The former WBA lightweight champion Brandon Rios and a Cuban lightweight contender Richard Abril had never once bumped into each other since. Until, Abril first introduced himself at a Miami press conference which was supposedly an announcement for a match between Rios and Yuriorkis Gamboa.
Unfortunately, Gamboa pulled out in a disagreement for the fight. Impolitely, Abril in behalf of Gamboa, wanted to let Rios know that he was more than ready to stand in for his fellow countryman.
Expectedly, there might be a very hot face-to-face between Rios and Abril for the 12-round WBA lightweight title match at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas on tonight.
If this match is as aggressive as the physical arguments at the pre-fight presser, this one is going to be unmissable.
