Nate Diaz vs. Jim Miller is so amazing!
In this fight, you have two of the sturdiest men in the 155lb division. Both have shook some of the toughest challengers in the division but have continuously seemed to not be able to rise at the final rung of the ladder to get a title shot. On Saturday night a win for Diaz will probably put him in extreme position to receive a title shot from the victor of Henderson vs. Edgar. Jim Miller could perhaps get in there with an imposing stoppage victory but I’d hazard a conjecture that he’ll be still a match away.
I’ve suggested a play on Diaz a week ago for this contest and still stand by that. Diaz has a gigantic reach advantage and recognizes how to use it to his full benefit. He’s also fairly crunchy and smooth with his striking as best displayed in the Cerrone bout where he picked separately the previous kick-boxer all night. Diaz’s softness has always been alongside powerhouse wrestlers but even then he does run the likes of Maynard and Guida nearly when being on the dropping side of judgments.
Miller is a persistent challenger in the division and is at the point of his career where he needs to yield that subsequent step or he’ll repeatedly be a doorkeeper to talent progressing. He’s smeared out some remarkable opponents like Bocek and Charles Oliveira but like Diaz has always unsuccessful to traverse that concluding hurdle.
