Eli Manning was the center spot of Saturday Night Live.
Eli Manning’s presenting show on “Saturday Night Live” equaled his typical performance as Giants Quarterback. He was fresh showing, solid highpoints, and no serious slipups.
He even received in a dig on big brother Peyton, who hit SNL gold when he presented in 2007.
And yes, if you watch through the end of the show, you saw Eli wearing a giant hair and lipstick and a fancy yellow for a drag show parody, the type of image that could leave die-hard Giants admirers with stomachache.
Manning does that throughout some of his games as well. He’s recognized for the sporadic wayward pass.
But this is a dude with two Super Bowl victories, two promising victories in front of more than 100 million worldwide TV spectators. You have an involvement with those moments, and abruptly live draft comedy doesn’t seem so intimidating.
Eli’s speech saw him announcing his offensive line in the crowd and calling Saturday “certainly the third-most thrilling night of my life” subsequent to those two Super Bowl triumphs over the New England Patriots.
He said, “I finally feel like a real New Yorker,” he said. “It took a few years, but now I’m an expert.”
