The 2012 NASCAR Sprint Cup season is active at Texas Motor Speedway in Fort Worth, Texas for the Samsung Mobile 500. NASCAR has been rolling in Texas since 1997 for both the Cup and the NASCAR Nationwide series.
Texas is a 1.5-mile quad-oval that was finished in 1996. The banking in the turns is 24 degrees with a 2,250 foot front-stretch and a much shorter backstretch that is 1,330 feet. The dependable and world-class facility hosts the Cup series twice a year - since 2005 - with a capacity of 159,585. We can remember that Jeff Burton and his Ford won the opening event in 1997 after starting 5th.
One of the most significant stats regarding Texas is that the NASCAR Sprint Cup series has compete here 22 times, and had awarded 17 different winners.
